This policy explains what information the Esculent Android app ("Esculent", "we", "us") collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. Esculent is a general wellness app for tracking nutrition, hydration and healthy habits.

We do not collect your location, contacts, messages, call logs, files, or browsing history. We do not sell your personal data to anyone.
When you photograph a meal, the image is sent over an encrypted connection to Google's Gemini API, which returns a nutrition estimate. The photo is used only for that analysis; we do not store your photos on our servers. Google processes the image as a service provider under its Gemini API terms.
Your sign-in credentials are managed by Clerk, and your wellness logs are stored in a Neon Postgres database protected by row-level security, so only your authenticated account can read your data. All traffic between the app and these services uses HTTPS/TLS encryption.
Your data is retained while your account is active. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time:
Deletion is immediate and irreversible: your profile, meals, water logs and weight history are erased from our database.
Esculent is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Esculent provides general wellness information only. Nutrition values are AI estimates. Home remedies and yoga content are informational and are not medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Always consult a qualified health professional for medical concerns.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export or erase your personal data. Email us and we will honor these requests within 30 days.
We will post any changes on this page and update the effective date above. Material changes will be highlighted in the app.
